Sr. Mgr., Strategic Fabrication Center | Pratt & Whitney | Canoga Park, CA

Leading and directing all activities related to Strategic Fabrication
Center (SFC), at the Pratt and Whitney Rocketdyne (`3 California
business site. Position provides top level manufacturing management
over manufacturing process areas and component sub-assembly, across two
factory campuses, of product lines associated with rocket engine
propulsion, space platforms, and energy systems.
Is accountable for coordination with business programs to provide robust
manufacturing processes, highly skilled and engaged employees to meet
cost, quality, and schedule requirements, and provide future
manufacturing technology solutions. Responsibilities also include
budget and cost management, product cycle time, labor hours to plan,
cost reduction initiatives, process standardization and certification,
and adherence to all tenants of the ACE (Lean) operating system.
Position provides leadership in the development of an effective
organization, creating a work environment that promotes superior
performance to environmental, health, and safety, and business ethics in
all aspects of the business.
Position is a direct report to the PWR California Site Director of
Operations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS degree w/4-7+ years experience
- MA/MS degree w/2-5+ years experience
- PhD degree w/0-2+ years experience
Direct experience in manufacturing and production systems in a
management and leadership position. This is not an entry level
management position. Demonstrated ability to strategically organize and
complete projects, objectives, and tasks. Candidates must possess strong
leadership skills and interpersonal skills, and have the ability to work
effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse and fast
paced environment. A strong ability to drive and deliver results, in a
dynamically changing environment. A passion and understanding for ACE
(Lean)concepts and the ability to deploy to the benefit of the business
is required. Experience working with a unionized workforce. Candidates
overall experience and personal competencies will be taken into account.
